Margaret Ash

Writes for reinvention after a life has already been substantially lived.
Margaret Ash is the name one of our astrologers writes under. She prefers it that way: the readings are hers, the name is not. Every page on this site starts from a chart computed from real positions and real dates, and nothing is published without hers review.
There is a life after the life you planned
Margaret Ash did not build her work around beginnings. She built it around what happens when a beginning is no longer the difficult part.
She has studied astrology for twenty-one years, beginning in Bath with traditional natal-chart instruction and moving gradually into predictive work, progressions and the longer cycles associated with midlife. A later multi-year mentorship focused her attention on Saturn's later passages, Uranian turning points, the nodal cycle and the way identity changes after a person has already spent decades becoming somebody.
Her archive now includes more than 2,580 client charts, many belonging to people between forty-five and sixty-five: people after divorce, after redundancy, after children leave home, after caregiving ends, after a long partnership changes shape, or after success itself becomes strangely unsatisfying.
Margaret says her ability did not arrive as intuition in the theatrical sense. It came from listening long enough to hear how often the stated question was not the real one. Will I meet someone again can mean am I still allowed to be desired. Should I change careers can mean have I already spent my chance. What is my purpose now can mean who am I if nobody needs the version of me I became.
Her method is therefore deliberately unhurried. She uses the natal chart as the baseline, then looks at progressions and longer transits to identify periods when dormant parts of the personality become harder to ignore. She is less interested in dramatic prediction than in developmental permission: the moment a person realizes a previous identity was not false, merely finished.
Margaret believes she can help because she has seen enough second acts to distrust the cultural story that the important chapters must happen early. In her work, reinvention is not evidence that the first life failed. It is evidence that a human being remained alive long enough to change.
Astrology cannot promise a new love, a new career or a perfect reinvention. But it can offer a language for the part of you that is no longer willing to disappear politely inside a life that once fit.
There is no astrological rule saying the most important part of your life has to happen first.
